Do you love to sing, dance and act? Then this class is for you! Go from page to stage with this showcase oriented program taught by musical theatre director Alan Kinsella and a team of professional theatre artists (Musical Director, Choreographer, etc.)

Our Musical Theatre programs are a FUN-FILLED adventure into the world of music theatre! For young people who love to PERFORM, CREATE CHARACTERS, and EXPRESS THEMSELVES through song and dance. Classes will involve DRAMATIC EXERCISES, ENSEMBLE MUSIC and CREATIVE MOVEMENT, culminating in a final showcase performance at the Wychwood Theatre. The final performance will be held at the end of the program showcasing the students in a short musical.
*All kids are welcome to register and learn, there are no entrance auditions to apply.

Covid-19 safety protocals:
All classes are held in a mask-mandatory, socially distanced environment when the kids are not on-stage working. Every room is sanitzed fully between groups and a regimented cleaning schedule is in place. We have set a high standard for safety and our general manager is certified in pandemic awareness and safety. The theatre runs a commercial air exchanger at all times to ensure a well-ventilated environment.

Each class culminates in a showcase performance
10 weeks. (2 hrs/wk).
ALAN KINSELLA
Alan is an internationally renowned Acting Teacher, Mentor and Director. Alan began his career as an actor and his debut was at the Abbey Theatre (The National Theatre of Ireland).
He went on to direct over one hundred productions in Ireland. In 2009 Alan directed his first off Broadway show "Lunch". In 2013 he moved to Canada and his Toronto debut was The Woman in Black at The Lower Ossington Theatre. His production of Mary Poppins won the Broadway World award for Best Musical in 2015.
Alan has written many family shows that have toured China, Jamaica, Qatar, Singapore, Oman, Sharjah and Turks and Caicos. In 2017 he directed productions of Aladdin and Fame at the Madinat Theatre Dubai. Alan has worked with Toronto Youth Theatre for many years nurturing up and coming talent. He has taught in numerous schools and colleges, notable Bull Alley Theatre Training Company, Liberties College in Dublin and Ovation Performing Arts Academy in Richmond Hill.
Alan is presently Artistic Director of the Markham Theatre Discovery Camp Program.
