
Neil Silcox
Artistic Director

Neil Silcox holds an Honours B.A in Drama from the University of Toronto, an Applied Degree in Acting from The Sheridan Institute as well as a Bachelor's of Education from the University of Western Ontario.
Neil has been working with young actors for more than 12 years, and has been acting for almost 15 years. In that time he has held almost every position on both sides of the curtain, including Actor, Director, Musical Director, Choreographer, Stage Manager, Technical Director, Lighting Designer, Costume Designer, Carpenter, and many more.
For the TYT Neil has directed: A Midsummer Night's Dream; The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee; MWAHAHAHAHA!!! (Show-In-A-Week 2010); and RENT, as well as assistant directing The Rocky Horror Show and Into The Woods with the TYT's founding Artistic Director Jeremy Hutton.
Neil has also directed Urinetown (U.C. Follies), Romeo and Juliet (OKTC), Chess (Althouse College) and Chekhov By The Sea (Erindale Fringe). As an actor Neil has appeared as Lawrence in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Buckingham in Richard III, Bottom in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Edgar in King Learand Protean in A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum (Hart House Theatre), Malvolio in Twelfth Night and Oliver in As You Like It (Canopy Theatre) and most recently as Antiphlus of Ephesus in A Comedy Of Errors (Humber River Shakespeare).
Neil is thrilled to be the Artistic Director of the Toronto Youth Theatre and is looking forward to building a thriving community at the TYT.

Tara Litvack
Musical Director

Tara Litvack is a recent honours graduate of the University of Toronto's Faculty of Music. She is currently an active music director, accompanist, pianist, and vocal coach in the Toronto musical theatre community.
Her recent credits include: The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, RENT, The Soloist, and Show-in-a-Week(Toronto Youth Theatre), Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, High Fidelity (Hart House Theatre), Into the Woods (StageWorks Toronto), Hair, Gypsy (VCDS), Urinetown (U.C. Follies),West Side Story (SMDS), Honey, I'm Home! (Pianist - Scotiabank Nuit Blanche), There's Something About Ashley Cabaret Series (Ashleyx2 Productions)
Currently: There's Something About Ashley Part 3(Ashleyx2 Productions), The Laramie Project (Composer - Theatre Aurora)

Cara Spooner
Choreographer

Cara Spooner has been involved in performance related projects as a dancer, choreographer, designer and curator. She has presented work in Toronto's Nuit Blanche, XPACE Cultural Centre, The Harbourfront Centre's HATCH Emerging Performance Project, Pleasure Dome, The Art Gallery of Mississauga, The Festival of New Dance in St. John's Newfoundland and Stromereien11 in Zürich Switzerland. She has worked with Diane Borsato, Jess Dobkin, Daniel Cockburn, Robin Lasser/Adrienne Pao, Sky Fairchild-Waller and Alicia Grant. Her interest in site-specific work and subjective mapping has lead her to create interventionist, installation-based performances which have been performed in abandoned factories, alley ways, parks, libraries, private homes and public eating establishments.
