Step 4 The Audition

Don’t panic! This is just a time for the to to meet you, discover where your strengths lie and find out what you are interested in doing. Some classes and programs at the TYT do not require an audition. If you're uncertain about the requirements of any given program, just give us a call!

PREPARATION

The preparation is dependant on the type of program or production that you wish to join. When you sign up, we will give you the specific information you need to prepare for your audition. The following are examples of the types of things you may be asked to do at an audition:

Acting Audition
Come ready to work with peers in a group setting. This is a chance for us to work together as actors and find out how you work through a variety of games, exercises and creative scenes. Sometimes you might be asked to prepare a monologue

Singing Audition
Please prepare one song of your choice no longer than two minutes. A piano accompanist is provided for your audition and it is strongly recomended that you bring sheet music to accompany your audition. You may sing without accompaniment if needed. Non-musical applicants need not sing at their audition

Dancing Audition
Bring comfortable clothes and shoes and be ready to dance. Please no skirts, open toed shoes or sandals. Non-musical applicants need not dance at their audition.

Acceptance into the program will be confirmed within one week of your audition.

Step 5 Registration

If you are accepted into a TYT program, you must register as a member of the TYT. This includes making a commitment to be at all classes and rehearsals, to pay the fee in full prior to the start of the program and to fill out the TYT Code of Conduct and Conditions of Enrollement.

Fees

The fee differs for each program and for each age group. Contact us for information on our 2008 programming and fees

This is a required non-refundable fee for all those participating in a TYT Program. A 50% deposit will be required upon acceptance. Please contact us to find out further information regarding fees.

We do offer a limited amount of financial assistance in the form of bursaries. Please contact us for further information regarding bursary applications.
